Hello. Welcome to the world of KAJSA OHMAN.
Story behind the song
Oh ho, wouldn't you like to know.
Actually, a friend just described a certain horse as high, wide and handsome, which led to a discussion of this song and thence to an impromptu house concert. The 'high, wide and handsome' is an attitudinal thing, not dependent upon size or movie star looks. If the shoe fits, this song could be you.
Lyrics
I've found the man of my dreams
He makes me go to extremes
My baby needs me, to make him a dancer.
He comes on like he's so shy
--Like he's not 'that kind of guy'--
But I don't take 'no' for an answer.
Sometimes he turns me down,
Says he don't want me around,
If he can't think of a cause, he invents one--
But when he changes his mind
He's so smooth and so kind
And he's high, wide and hansome.
First thing, they gave me this drink--
Said it would help me to think.
It was bitters & salt & Bacardi.
I made myself a disgrace
I fell flat on my face--
Well, it must have been some kind of party.
I had this guy in a room
And I just kind of assumed
He would be wanting to hold me for ransom
'Cause he was comin' my way--
He had nothing to say--
He was high, wide, and handsome!
My baby, he's so alone--
He never answers his phone
He never calls me except when he pleases.
I know he's low--but he's tall
And he's so scared he'll fall
And I'll take him and break him in pieces.
But he comes in like a train
And explodes in my brain--
He's got a load of what I want, and then some.
And he's old, and he's mean,
And he's proud, and he's green,
And he's high, wide, and handsome.
