I started singing as a young boy. My mom tells a story that the first time I sang was in church. I walked up on the middle of the adult praise and worship team and started belting it out. My family and I are very close and our lives were always filled with music. I had my first solo singing Silent Night when I was 10 years old.

"But You Lied" is a song for anyone who has ever been hurt or betrayed. When someone you trust it in so much does things to hurt you the shock can be overwhelming. You may even at the time feel like you will not ever recover, but you will grow stronger from the experience. This song isn't about being a victim but about rather exposing the weakness of the one that hurt you. You will survive and move on while they have to live with the guilt of what they've done.
