Sunday School songs for grown-ups.
One Kid's Lunch. "Sunday School" songs for grown-ups. Who these guys anyway? Two friends since about the 5th grade with a tendency to the weird, Dustin and Dave have been writing songs for over twenty years. After the thundering silence that greeted classics like "The Heimlich Maneuver", "Uncle Sam (is a Metal Man)" and "He Thinks He's a Kite!" (along with a few dozen band name changes,) and, even with the most excellent and humbling inclusion of "Attack of the 90ft Lounge Lizard" in an international Dr. Demento broadcast---the duo were compelled to dedicate their musical gifts (however rich or meager you might find them) to exploring their own faith, often tipping a sacred cow or two along the way. C'mon, it'll be good for you.... You might just like it.

Lyrics
Saw a suit and tie with a guy inside it, real excited… Pleased to explain that I can be filthy rich and free from pain… If I just help pay his hairspray bill (and have the faith to convince God to do my will…) Saw a little book by a prophetess, who I must confess I judged… Certainly not the messenger of God she claimed to be Though her tour did strike some fear in me. One more reason the world has to disbelieve. Now I’m the first to say it’s true that I can be a moron too. I’m afraid we often do way more harm than good for you, Marching on without a clue. Saw a preacher-man in a picket line with a great big sign And I heard him say with pride that some kid went straight to hell the day he died—through his holy, cranked-up megaphone. Making sure they could hear in the funeral home…. Now I know it’s often true That I’m pretty foolish too But some folks have got no clue They just don’t know what they do They do not know what they do Open up our hearts to you Please infuse some kind of clue Into all we say and do Make it wise, make it true Give us a clue.

sometimes I think that I have a clue - but I don't have the courage to say anything.
