Lyrics
BIG IDEAS VERSE 1: Early Sunday morning just my baby and me And the birds and the bees in the trees Like nobodys business We be hallowing ground When in the distance theres a terrible sound Luthers got good news Hes gonna shout in your ear Well, let me tell you, Luther, it was better round here Without your big idea VERSE 2: We used to wake the morning; shake the fruit from the trees The seashore and the garden gave us all we need We fell for it - corporate development plan Now we cant afford the food we grow with our own hands Workin for some strangers Who dont live anywhere near (they dont dare) Let me tell you stranger, it was better round here Without your big idea BRIDGE (Instrumental) INSTRUMENTAL VERSE VERSE 3: Way back in the old days, man, I thought you were cool Until I saw the way you play everyone the fool Ill be damned that holy man was nothin but crow Your heads full of medicine you dont have to know That well all remember Not to shed any tears Let me tell you, friend, it was better round here Without your big ideas VERSE 4: Like the fundamentalist I saw on TV In your eyes human lives are commodities You spread the free market with the bombs and the tanks We invade; its OK all they say is thanks We must have all been crazy To ever let you steer Let me tell you, captain, it was better round here Without your big ideas Before your big ideas Without your big ideas
