Dark Enchantment

Darkness corrupts the innocent fairy... a fairytale hiding filosophic human concepts. A melodic, heavy song carrying proudly the name of the band!
alternative power metal gothic death
Artist picture
Melodic, extreme, progressive, gothic metal with some power, black, death influence!
Back in 2001, before all the symphonic metal bands like Nightwish came out, Andy, Sello, Lou and Chiara started the project of an alternative metal band with the goal to reach a new kind of alternative music! All started with the idea of a sweet female voice set against a growling/screaming voice. Music, in our mind, should be a compromise of extreme and classic metal, with strong melodies and some progressive influence. That's how the Dark Enchantment project was born!

Story behind the song
This song perfectly describes the intent of the band of making gothic music with strong prog/rock contamination. Instead of looking for death/black metal clichès this song has its roots in progressive metal and hard rock, while the link with the extreme can be found in the growling and screaming vocals
Lyrics
Once upon a time an evil tale began Like silver shines so the eyes of innocence But out of the light where evil always lurk The fairy stared 'n' got chanted by the dark Bridge: It is the price you gotta pay That rots your inner purity Like fallin' into an endless pit, Like livin' endlessly bad dreams! Wake me up without any breath Bring me out of this evil spell Get me up, get me out of this dream Save me, catch me from my fall Chorus: Trapped in a crystal coffin Not alive, nor even dead Lost in a labyrinth All I do I'm still in dead ends! A black kiss to warm my lips, A kiss to open up my eyes, A voice from the winter calling to breing me out of this hell! Enchanted by the dark the fairy turned to black As worms eating flesh her purity consumed Black power grew insed her little chest Black eyes and wings: a black heart need no rest!

First off, this is a great tune! But I gotta agree with Rod and Skull, Chiara's vocal part is way out in front of the rest of the band. Throws off the balance and flow a bit, but otherwise this rocks Andy! LONG LIVE "DARK ENCHANTMENT!" Cheers! Neo

Excellent song no doubt about it. The mixing could be better, Chiara's voice is not blending in, it feels like its on a separate track that is too loud, its a good thing she has a great voice. Once again a kick ass solo, always a treat to hear you play. If you can take this song to the studio and get an experienced engineer to mix it, it will be a beauty. Great work.
