An amalgam of anything that passes thru one ear and out the other -- see our Interview page for details.
In our music, you'll hopefully find everything -- rock, orchestral, trip-hop, spacey/ambient, whatever -- most times all in one tune!! Mwah-ha-ha.... We follow no labels, guidelines, trends -- we write what we feel at any given moment; industrial one moment, folk the next. You might hear smatterings of Floyd/Waters/Gilmour, a touch of Mike Nesmith, some Metheny, maybe even some Vangelis or 80's pop, classic rock, sheer noise, Air, Terje Rypdal, and if you really stretch in order to make us seem more relevant to the times, maybe some of The Shins, Sigur Ros, etc. Basically anything that makes a noise can inspire us.

Story behind the song
I was tasked long ago with writing four songs to chronicle the inception, ascension, disillusionment with, and finally destruction of a relationship, with references to the corresponding seasons (spring, summer, winter, fall). The spring song was a silly mess. You'll never hear the summer song, most likely, because I realized at the dinner table during Christmas 2005 that it was a nearly note-for-note unconscous ripoff of Bryan Adams' "Christmas Time" (including being in the same key before & after their key changes). The fall song may appear here some day since it has been recovered from its master tape with vocals by John intact. This is the winter song. It would have been easier to write the songs if I hadn't been breaking up with one girlfriend while writing the first two, and starting up with a new girlfriend while writing the last two.
Lyrics
I don't know whether to tell you what you want to hear, or tell you the God's-honest truth. I don't know if I should say it's all your fault, or blame it on problems of youth. You needed someone to listen, and I needed someone to care; but when I looked in your eyes, I saw someone else there... Why should we tear each other apart, when we can't even stay together? How could we possibly keep up the passion, when every minute is torture... I don't know if you ever really needed me or what you want me to say. I don't know if I gave everything to you or if you just took it away. You denied far too long that the feeling was gone; you said you'd never leave, as you headed for the door... Why should we tear each other apart, when we can't even stay together? How could we possibly keep up the passion, when every minute is torture... Why should we tear each other apart, when we can't even stay together? How could we possibly keep up the passion, when every minute is torture... ............. ~
