Trash-pop, guitar rock and melodic miscellany.
Not so much a band as a bloke with a guitar and a laptop, The Smivets deliver a genre-bending blend of pop, rock, punk, prog and many other monosyllables.

Story behind the song
An entirely unrepentant homage to AC/DC, who we are going to see at Wembley this 4th of July for what will in all probability be the final time. The 'DC have been a part of my life since I first saw them with Bon Scott in '76 and remain one of the very few acts my whole family loves - we even named our new dog Angus and trained him to respond to the opening riff of Whole Lotta Rosie. So, a balls out rocking tale about whether to choose the perilous cliff-edge goat-track of fidelity or the six lane blacktop of temptation. Hopefully the joyous spirit of the thing comes over, even though the the vocal is severely strained on the high bits and the guitar solo boasts a generous selection of bum notes - you've no idea how difficult it is to play doing the duck-walk round the cramped man-cave, careering into fixtures and fittings as the Marshall belches smoke and sparks ....
Lyrics
Out past civillisation's end I hadn't been home since I don't know when When she rocked up in a quick set of wheels (I could tell that she'd be trouble by the sparks from her heels) Looking so good in a little black dress She let her hair fall back like she couldn't care less About anything but what was on my mind As she casually enquired if I had the time (Oh yes it's just coming up to about twentyfive past ... oh) Oh what a sweet temptation Making all the wrong seem right It's gonna take all my determination Not to fall for her tonight. Well the way that she was driving unsettled my nerves I wondered how I'd handle those dangerous curves I couldn't seem to concentrate on anything at all She asked me my name but I couldn't recall How she figured out that the coast was clear Because she gripped the stick to shift it up a gear Seeing that she was about to raise the steak ^^ I decided it was time to apply the brake (Ugh, you should've seen the skidmarks) Oh what a sweet temptation Making all the wrong seem right It's gonna take all my determination Not to fall for her tonight. Oh my darling Sometimes you have to go right to the very edge Just to find out how not to fall

Nice bit of Angus stylin' there. :) Almost reminded me a bit of Jilted John at times lol, probably just the spoken bits and the general nature of the tune.

I'm with Michael....brilliant!! This is ACDC at its best...except it's Steve instead, lol. I think you could tour as ACDC, nobody would know it wasn't them ;) Superbly performed, written and produced. Love the stuff you wrote in the story behind the song...thanks for the laugh, I needed that!

Angus in the house - awesome guitar solos and guitar tone. Steve, you make some of the best rock music period. The vocals are great and your guitar work always impresses me - just great rock music!

Cool tune! Kinda AC/DC meets the Kinks...but with your own stamp that makes it so unique. Good lyrics, excellent vox, and a fine mix with audible lyrics... and the overall production is ace. Liked the dynamics too...overall another ace tune from one of SC's best!
The tone on the solos and performance - NAILED IT! A fantastic homage, Steve. Now I want a sausage roll too.
